Abstract: The objective of this study is to compare the physical, chemical and bacteriological parameters of
rainwater with the consolidation of the Ordinance n °05/2017 of the Ministry of Health, which deals with
the potability of water for human consumption and the feasibility of use for the treatment of açaí. The
method used was the evaluation of the physical-chemical and microbiological characteristics of the
rainwater collected in the catchment system installed in the NUMA/UFPA facilities. The pH parameter
presented values within the ordicance standard. In relation to the total coliforms, this presented a
countless number of colonies. Thus, it is necessary to implement corrective methods such as chlorination
to reduce or eliminate the presence of these bacteria in the system.
