Abstract: Post-vaccination granulomas and abscesses are of great importance in terms of the commercial value of the carcass and occur due to the accumulation of pus (pyogenic and putrid products). They are usually caused by traumatic penetration of the skin followed by infection, and both live cultures and vaccine adjuvants can lead to muscle irritation and thus generate granulomas and abscesses. The aim of this article is to shed light on the occurrence of post-vaccination granulomas and abscesses in buffalo and cattle and their economic losses.</description>

Abstract: Food safety is a growing concern in the world, as people are increasingly looking for healthy, safe food that can provide them with a better quality of life. The use of any substance in farm animals must be associated with knowledge of pharmacokinetics, i.e. the professional must establish limiting values, thus minimizing the risks of residues that could be harmful to the health of consumers. Modern food production has considerably increased the risks of chemical contamination, given that the growth in productivity in animal husbandry is directly related to the use of hundreds of drugs used to treat and maintain the health of food-producing animals, thus leaving them exposed to chemical substances that can eventually leave residues in the animal's carcass and body.  The aim is therefore to write a review on the responsible use of medicines in farm animals and the consequences of humans consuming food of animal origin contaminated with drug residues.</description>

Abstract: Brazil's performance in the international live cattle trade has been showing positive results since 2004, with the state of Pará as the main exporter, followed by Rio Grande do Sul and Amapá. Despite a 6% drop in 2014, live cattle exports continue to be a promising activity, especially in countries like Venezuela (Brazil's main trading partner), which is responsible for 82% of Brazil's total live cattle export revenue. When it comes to exporting live cattle and animal products, health issues for trade between countries are extremely important.&#xD;

The Sanitary and Phytosanitary Agreement (SPS) drawn up by member countries of the World Trade Organization (WTO) aims to preserve animal and consumer health, without this becoming an unnecessary obstacle to free trade. The aim here is to provide the reader with information on the main health requirements for exporting live cattle in Brazil.</description>
