Título: Por que ainda somos tão poucas? Representatividade das mulheres nos cargos de direção nas Universidades Federais.
Autor(es): ALMEIDA, Ruth Helena Cristo
Abstract: This paper aims to present information about occupations of management positions in federal public universities in the North of the country, from a gender perspective. To carry out this research, of the quantitative and exploratory type, secondary data were used, obtained from the official website of the Ministry of Planning, year 2018. The data collected demonstrate that the management positions in the institutions are still (58.7 %) mostly occupied by men. And, this implies, consequently, bonuses in management positions. The greater the gratification, the greater the male presence. The data refer us to the discussion of women's relations with the labor market and with management positions that have undergone countless transformations, with this “place of power” being re-signified, before the almost exclusive domain of men. However, stereotypes still exist, within the higher education institutions themselves that should reflect on them, but that end up reinforcing and reproducing such relationships. Keywords: Gender. Leadership. Power relations.
