Abstract: The writer analizes the influence of inflation, over the cost of mechanized York, emphasizing the necessity and&#xD;
convenience of proceeding, yearly, to the evaluation of the currency of the initial capital invested to purchase the mentioned cost. Through anlitic essay, he pretends to have arrived at a empirical formula of easy understanding and use, which enables such peilodical evaluation, without need of consulting or searching prices in the market. He establishes a list an dan abacus to determine the factor of correction of the formula found for the various taxes of médium inflation and many periods of years, related to the usable life of the machines. He analizes, further, the various items which compose the cost of the wcrk of each one of the machines and tries to relate, a good deal of such items, with value of acquisiton of the equipment, duly corrected in function of the inflationed index.&#xD;
At last, he proposes a general expression destined to the,&#xD;
calculation of the cost of unitary work (CTU), adjusted to the&#xD;
conditions of the Brazilian economy.</description>

Abstract: ABSTRACT 1: In the present work, the authors report the results obtained in a fertilizer experiment with rice, carried out af the Escola de Agronomia da Anmzônia, in a yellow Latosol. The best treatments were farm manure with mineral fertilizers and farm manure alone which gone yield of 2.220 and 1709 kg/ha respectively, representing increases of 138% and 83% over the control. However, considering the cost of fertilizers, both treatments would be uneconomical under present conditions.; ABSTRACT 2: The cemtral theme of the present work is photosynthesis and the author takes into consideration the primar/ productivity, biological productivity, and agricultural productivity of plants. The importance of total leaf area, efective assimilation rate, photosynthetic efficiency, relative growth rate, leaf area ratio, leaf arrangement (Plant architecture) and coordination of plant growth, is taken into consideration in order to arrive at conclusions concerning productivity in the tropics.; ABSTRACT 3: The increase in solubility of soil phosphorus and. pchassium, and the riss in pH, after' being flooded with water, was determined in lowland soils (várzea soils) of Guamá river Belém, Pará, Brazil, in a period of 120 days. In a soil sample taken under forest, it was found a rise from 14 ppm P2O5 in dry soil, to 98 ppm, within 40 days. The same kind of soil, under cultivation, showed a rise from 6 ppm, to 49 ppm, within 25 days. After reaching a peak PH remained practically unchanged too. The stabilization in a high levei of soluble phophorus irter a long time submergence is not in agreement with Pcnnamperuma's findings (Ponnamperuma, 1964). No change has been detected in potsssium solubility arher flooding.; ABSTRACT 4: The purpose of Ihis work was to find out a method for determining total, inorganic, and organic phosphorus content in soils containing a high content in free iron, as it commonly occurs in Amazonian soils. It was followed the method used by MEHTA et al, with a modification consisting in the elimination of cations through a changing resin strongly acid the washing of the extracting column with a 1% acetic acld solution, in order to separate the phosphorus retained by the resin particles and adsorved in silica from the sample, in the upper part of the column.</description>

Abstract: The present paper has been prepared with the aim to divulge the possibilities of the cashew-plant (Anacardium occidentale, L.) culture along the Ocean Coast of the State of Pará, over a belt that stretches toward the Northeast, covering the Municipilaties of Curuçá, Marapanim, Magalhães Barata, Maracanã, Salinópolis, Primavera, Bragança, Augusto Corrêa, and Vizeu, the latter already close to Maranhão Etateline. It shows their geographic position in relation with main roads and the strategic position or Belem harbor in connection with producing centers ande international consumers. It also defines their climate and soil conditions, considering them as an extension of the Ocean Coast of the State of Maranhão, given the comparative characteristics of Salinópolis, quite alike those of Turiaçu and São Luiz, in that State.&#xD;
Before ending it mentions the methods of culture utilized by the only enterprise to undertake, on a great scale, the development of a rationalized culture of cashew-plant along the belt under study, on the Ocean Coast of Pará, bearing in mind local characteristics as important factor in the guidance of cultural operations.

Abstract: In the present work, after beeing caracterized the geographie position of Altamira, country of the State of Pará and emphasized the importance that such a country has, as one of the developing pole at this moment of the Brasilian Amazônia, for beeing localized on the margin of the pioneer Transamazonic Highway, the authors have studied the climatic aspect of the município, envolving temperature and rainfall gauge, evaporation potentiality and hydric balance. Based on such studies, they research under the climaticpoint of view the viability of the município, considering the settlement of the principal food and industrial crops such as : rice, beans, pineaple, corn, peanut, sugar cane, cotton, black peper, rubber and castor oil, concluding beeing possible,&#xD;
the development of such crops.
Descrição: Com a publicação deste boletim, a Escola de Agronomia da Amazônia, do Ministério da Educação e Cultura, preenchendo uma lacuna de há muito existente, inicia a publicação do órgão de divulgação dos seus trabalhos, principalmente os de pesquisa. "Possibilidades Agro-climáticas do Município de Altamira,(Pará)", de autoria dos Professores Francisco Barreira Pereira e José de Souza Rodrigues, é uma contribuição ao processo desenvolvimentista da Amazônia Brasileira. Põe em evidência o clima e as perspectivas agrícolas do município, o maior em extensão territorial no Brasil, que possui agora, mais do que nunca, com a construção da Transamazônica, grande importância no progresso daquela imensa região do Estado do Pará. É um trabalho original, fruto da dedicação e da pesquisa destes dois técnicos e cuja confecção, em grande parte, se tornou possível, graças ao Regime de Tempo Integral e Dedicação Exclusiva em que os mesmos se encontram. Deixamos aqui consignados o nosso reconhecimento e agradecimento à Superintendência do Desenvolvimento da Amazônia (SUDAM) que, através convênio, em muito possibilitou a realização das pesquisas aqui descritas.</description>
