Abstract: Social and environmental studies are foreseen in the SNUC for the creation of sustainable use conservation units. In the years 2012 and 2013, four studies were carried out to specifically create marine extractive reserves in the state of Pará. We worked in the municipalities of Magalhães Barata, Marapanim, São Caetano de Odivelas and Augusto Correa. Methodologies for these surveys were developed based on ethnosciences and participation as a theoretical basis. The methodologies were added in order to answer the questions, such as: if there is a occurrence of traditional populations, their ways of life and uses of existing natural resources. The results pointed to the existence of traditional populations, with mangroves being the main environment used. The future of the territory is discussed after the creation of the desired conservation units, which occurred in 2014.

Abstract: This study discusses the importance of anthropological reports for legitimizing commercial relations between companies and rural Amazon communities. As a case study, three communities were based: Cotijuba, Campo Limpo and Boa Vista do
Acará, the latter being characterized as a traditional community based on the anthropological report. In addition, it analyzes the participation of the State in the development of this process, as well as identifies the social actors involved. Based on fieldwork and analysis of the relevant literature, a form was applied, made direct observation with family farmers and social actors identified and considered as key actors. These resources allowed the verification of the existence of a clear mismatch between the legal requirements, the needs and “time” (always fast) of the company and what is desired and understood by the communities. In addition, there was a difficulty in strengthening social capital and clearly communities are an important link in this process of bioprospecting. However, the “transformation” of the Boa Vista do Acará community into “traditional” did not add negotiable rights or other advantages to it.

Abstract: This article discusses the importance of the dialogue of knowledge to the adoption of agroforestry
systems (SAFs), based on the analysis of the management practices of açaizais adopted
by peasants of Monte Sião community, in northeastern Pará. The quantitative-qualitative
approach was adopted, using semi-structured questionnaires for 38 peasants adopting SAF as
the predominant production system, as well as interviews with key actors. It was identified that
SAF, understood by the peasants as “açaizal”, was a practice learned from the ancestors and
disseminated among the generations, and this is constantly improved, due to the need of food
production to the family. The dialogue between peasants, starting with mutual help / interchanges,
and with researchers in technical skills also plays an important role in the consolidation of
the systems. It is concluded that local knowledge in dialogue with scientific knowledge, allows
the adoption of sustainable production systems.

Abstract: This work aims to analyze the oil palm culture impacts perceived by farmers who
cultivate oil palm in the city of Para Concordia through analysis to National Program for
Production and Use of Biodiesel (PNPB) through policy that proposes social inclusion. The
methodology consisted of literature, followed by field research in local communities through
the use of questionnaires to family farmers. Observed impacts perceived by farmers as
descampesinização, risks to food security, employment generation and income, decrease in
the production and marketing of food. It was concluded that, to achieve local development
proposed by PNPB, greater articulation of the groups involved in the chain is required, as
well as a monitoring of the public sphere in compliance with the guidelines relating to the
Program.
