Abstract: In addition to academic activities that promote the formation of critical thinking, it is necessary for universities to work around an integrated environmental management system, minimizing impacts, while contributing to raising awareness in society. Thus, the research aims to identify the environmental management practices adopted by the Federal Rural University of the Amazon – UFRA, Belém campus, in addition to proposing actions not yet developed in accordance with the aspects of sustainable development. The methodology was developed in three stages. Initially, a bibliographical survey was carried out, dealing with the proposed topic. Then, on-site visits were carried out in order to record diagnoses on the environmental practices already carried out by the university, where several photographic and descriptive records were made that made it possible to carry out the study. And in the end, with the results analyzed, alternatives for sustainable actions not yet implemented in the institution were presented. After analyzing the results obtained regarding the environmental management practices carried out, it became clear that there is a growing concern on the part of the institution to add environmental value to its activities, it was observed that it already carries out some sustainable actions, such as: promoting environmental education; selective collection of recyclable solid waste; low energy consumption lamps and equipment; preservation and maintenance of green areas; ventilation and natural lighting; access for disabled people and people with mobility difficulties; presence of a vegetable garden and changing rooms; in addition to the organization of periodic events and the use of the university's media for campaigns in favor of the environment.

Abstract: Several studies conducted in Brazil have shown that crop yield is affected by different climatic factors, including water stress. Water consumption of soybean varies with plant development and environmental conditions, with significant impacts on its yield when this demand is not met. Water consumption of soybean crop (Glycine Max (L.) Merryl) grown during the 2007 crop cycle in a soybean production areas in the Amazon was investigated.
The soybean water consumption followed the trend of increase in LAI, with maximum evapotranspiration during grain filling period, whose mean value was 4.1±0.4 mm.day-1. Low values of the decoupling factor during the initial phase of the crop indicated a considerable contribution of soil evaporation and a higher stomatal control of the process. After the canopy closure there was a decrease in stomatal control indicating an increment in the transpiration contribution besides a canopy decoupling with the atmosphere, which indicated a direct control of evapotranspiration by the available energy. Slight reductions in soil water content during the reproductive phase suggested a certain importance of stomatal control in soybean evapotranspiration. The total water consumption of soybean from the V1 stage until harvest was 335 mm.

Abstract: This study proposes alternatives to the current methods of processing round-cooked lobster. The paralyzation of lobsters with direct electric shock consumes 10.526 x 10-3 kWh, which is significantly less than the 11 kWh required by the traditional thermal-shock method (based on 60 kg of lobsters). A better weight gain was obtained by immersion of paralyzed lobsters in brine before cooking. Systematic trials combining 3, 6, or 9% brine concentrations with immersion periods of 15, 30, or 45 minutes were performed in order to determine the best combinations. A mathematical model was designed to predict the weight gain of lobsters of different sizes in any combination of treatments. For small lobsters, a 45 minutes immersion in 6% brine gave the best response in terms of weight gain (4.7%) and cooking produced a weight loss of only 1.34% in relation to fresh lobster weight. For medium-sized lobsters, a 45 minutes immersion in 9% brine produced a weight gain of 2.64%, and cooking a weight gain of 1.08%. For large lobsters, a 45 minutes immersion in 6% brine produced a weight gain of 3.87%, and cooking a weight gain of 1.62%.

Abstract: Fishponds as flat artificial systems suffer external and internal influence that go to act in the planktonic
community and the factors physicist-chemistries of the water. In this direction, the paper was developed in
six ponds and had as objective: to list the zooplanktonic species, to apply quantitative methods, calculating
density, relative abundance, wealth, diversity and equitability between the registered organisms and to evaluate
the water quality based on the parameters physicist-chemists. Samplings for qualitative and quantitative
determination of zooplankton, beyond analyses of temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, electric conductivity
and dissolved total solids had been effected. The dissolved oxygen averages had been above of 6,0mg/l and
pH varied of basic the slightly acid one. The conductivity varied of 8,5 the 25,3µS/cm. Had been identified 80
tax, being 60 of Rotifer, three of Protozoa and 17 of Artrhopoda. In density terms, station 06 if detached, being
Rotifera the dominant group, with peak in january, 2374.5org/l. In terms of occurrence frequency, the naupliar
forms if had detached among copepodes, Cyclestheria hislopi and Alona poppei between the cladocera and
Keratella americana e Trichocerca pusilla between the rotifers. Station 01 had the biggest values of diversity
and equitabilidity, demonstrating bigger uniformity of species. In this study, the abiotic variable had not varied
significantly and were inside of the band recommended for the culture, except the conductivity. The biggest
wealth of species and dominance of rotifers allowed to consider them as the group most important of the
Station. Copepods and cladocers, for being bigger, had probably been citizens to the visual prerestitution for
fish.
